Painted on unprimed canvas, this piece resists the smoothing hand — the paint sinks, spreads and stains the raw weave exactly as it wants to. Life moves in peaks and valleys—rarely does it let us stay on flat, steady ground for long. This painting sits in that exact tension: two masses of colour rising and falling toward each other, coral and aubergine reaching skyward like summit light, while warm ochre pools low like the shadowed floor of a valley. It isn't about escaping one for the other. It's about the grace it takes to walk through both—to hold the mountaintop clarity and the valley's slow, uncertain steps with the same steady hand.
